And I never thought I would but somehow the movie lured me in and I REALLY LIKED IT A LOT ACTUALLY? but in a musical full of really heartfelt, moving, truly wonderful songs, the goofiest song (Master of the House) was probably honestly my favourite.

I don't think Jonen's mad diplomatic skillz would work all that well against the ritualists in this particular situation. I don't think they'd be intimidated, and I DO think they'd notice that he's unable to cast.

I almost couldn't take this comment seriously because I started laughing at the idea of Jonan's "mad diplomatic skillz."
"Now that I've sealed your mouth shut I'm sure you're more willing to negotiate a surrender, right?"
(Besides even if they COULDN'T tell he can't cast... While you might get past a city guard just by glaring, I feel like the Order's soldiers want answers and are way too eager to stab things to wait till he wrote it all down.)

Fair point. It probably says a lot about my opinion on Sev's diplomacy skills that I think someone who can't speak would have a better chance of getting him out of trouble.

I'm getting the sense more and more that it's perfectly A-OK to ship Xira and Tareth. First, when the Aladdin comparisons were going, when Xira was Aladdin, Tareth was Jasmine. And now, he seems awfully eager to suggest he can be the Marius to her Cosette.

Sorry I keep thinking of random questions, but I can't just NOT ASK (that would be inviting insanity, I'm pretty sure). So here goes:
Sev scratched runes into his earrings a couple pages ago - when he casts those runes, will the scratches go away? If no, can he cast the same rune more than once?

It's all good -- and the runes disappear when they're cast! He'd have to re-write them to cast that spell again.
