Maybe that's what have happened. Though this makes the spell sort of strangely persistent. Also if that happened I don't understand why he is still bleeding. (or maybe he isn't?)
So intense, can't wait to see how this turns out.

I'm thinking his mouth sealed up but the cut on the outside did not so he's going to be bleeding for a bit.
