I'm hijackig onto this, because I would like to tell you, you were handling the hiatus thing in a great way in my opinion. You noted us in advance that it is coming and you told us that you will give an update at whenever (can't recall the date). AND you delivered on the promise and gave us update and let us know that the hiatus extends for approximately how long.
And you kept us updated since then too.
So we knew you were alive and that you planned to come back to this, but also we were told not to expect it too soon. And that made the waiting that much more tolerable. Some creators could take a leaf from your comicbook in this regard.
