I had my suspicions with the obsession with everything being straight and ordered and then the whole always being late thing but now I'm getting surer that dear Esra has OCD. Only once you lock and unlock the door exactly FOUR times can you be sure you've done it right. Otherwise, you've done it wrong and have to start over, you idiot!! And while you're at it, only enter the room with your right foot, and only walk on the left side of the hall, but don't touch the wall or you'll have to turn around and walk back to the start...

Also, panel five is something I can relate to. Surely homework assignments aren't that hard. Surely I'm just not getting something. RIGHT?? Where have the past six hours gone? T_T

YEAH SURE BRAIN, THAT MAKES SENSE, I JUST LOCKED THAT DOOR AND YOU SAW ME DO IT FIVE SECONDS AGO BUT WHAT IF IT MAGICALLY UNLOCKED ITSELF SOMEHOW. BETTER GO CHECK IT, HUH.

My OCD ass thinks this is way funnier than it actually is probably but what can I say, this is like the second character I've seen ever with OCD that wasn't "LOL CLEANING" :/

Ha, I specifically came to the comments just to see if anyone else had stuff to say about Esra's OCD; I'm pretty good with locking just once (our old door has a "privacy lock" on the inside which can't be opened with a key; it sometimes jiggles locked if you're not careful when manipulating the door. The last time that happened, we had to break a window to get in, and in the process of getting in we also broke the sink faucet. *sigh*). On the other hand, I have to check that the stove is off at least four times before I leave the house, even if I haven't used it. Rationally, I know that's ridiculous, but my internal psychological comfort level doesn't care.

And yes, nice to see someone with OCD who isn't just about washing their hands!

Fun story: when I was first trying to figure out what was going on with my brain, I had an exchange with myself that was pretty much just

Me: hey brain, don't freak out but I think we might have OCD
Brain: No!! We can't have that!!! Our mental health is bad enough we can't have something else!!!!!
Me: well I mean, it wouldn't be a new thing we already
Brain: punch yourself in the stomach so you won't have OCD!!!!!

YEP SURE BRAIN, THAT'S HOW THAT WORKS. GOOD JOB YOU SOLVED MY OCD PUZZLE.

So anyways, all my sympathies go out to Ezra.

Hah, I had to look around seven times to understand what the tapping was, but at this point I'm QUITE certain that's Esra's footsteps as he walks back toward the door. The fact that there's no indicator of motion via lines, and the fact that the sound effect is on the ceiling, made it a little ambiguous. On first glance I thought it was the footsteps of the old lady as she walked forward, but then I was like, huh, Esra would also have to move backward judging by his distance from the door in the second panel.

Maybe it's just you and I, though. I have been known to miss key details while noticing utterly irrelevant ones. e_o

Ahhhhh The Wing has it, it is his footsteps! The intent was for her to be reacting to the sound of him running back, but honestly looking at it now it might be clearer without??? i will.... possibly fiddle this at some point, if they disappear I PROMISE YOU DID NOT IMAGINE THEM
